Coffee roasting started out of curiosity for me. I love coffee, and I became fascinated with the journey from green (unroasted) beans to what ends up in our mugs every day.
Learning how to roast took some time, and a few of the early batches were failures. They were either too empty and flat, or over roasted and bitter.
Each batch provided me with a little more knowledge and confidence. I was getting on the right track, but I still needed to make some adjustments. While continuing to improve the process, I shared batches with friends, family, and total strangers in exchange for honest feedback.
Getting to a point where the responses were that the coffee was amazing, or that they would buy it in a heartbeat, or even that it was one of the best cups ever was incredibly motivating, and pushed me to continue on this path.
So, here I am. Putting my coffee beans out there for more people to enjoy. I will continue to roast in small batches, so that every batch gets the proper amount of attention. To ensure the beans are enjoyed as fresh as possible they will only be available locally in Ottawa and surrounding areas for now.
Each batch will be labeled with the origin of the bean, the weight of the bag (after roasting), and the date it was roasted.
